Whitewater Canyon

Whitewater Preserve, January 2017This ride takes you out to what was once the Whitewater Trout Farm. A fish breeding and fishing pond business. Since its demise, the Whitewater Preserve, as it’s now known, functions as a conservancy for the many species of bighorn sheep, deer and bear, and is an important wildlife corridor between the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountains. You can still peacefully watch and feed the large trout in three ponds and enjoy plenty of covered picnic tables for a mid ride respite before a fun decent down the hill back to Palm Springs. Be warned though, refilling your water bottle will be a problem as drinking water is not readily available.
